Challenge

Atlantic Freight runs a six-truck I-95 dry-van operation between Baltimore and Boston. Dispatch is two planners covering thirteen active shipments a day on the corridor. A forecast three-day winter-storm event in January 2026 was projected to close the corridor twice, and the planners expected to spend most of those three days on the phone re-routing loads and renegotiating carrier rates — work that had overflowed into the following week on two prior storms. They wanted a way to absorb the storm without paying that overflow cost again.

Approach
